Midlothian local authority recently confirmed plans to expand their mediation provision within the council.

Helen Graham – Community Mediation Co-Ordinator – told the Centre this week that following a report earlier in 2015 the council is introducing workplace mediation as an option for dispute resolution across the organisation. At the same time the service’s young people and families mediation continues to expand.

Early December saw the Mediate 2015 Conference take place near Edinburgh. Over a hundred mediators and representatives from organisations from across Scotland met to hear speakers and workshop presenters offer their insights into the Power of Mediation. This was the theme for the Conference, jointly hosted by Scottish Mediation Network (SMN) and Queen Margaret University.

Sacro’s Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire Community Mediation, the neighbour dispute resolution service, has chosen the winners of its “Good Neighbour” award for 2015.

Mr and Mrs Garry McNulty from Northfield, Aberdeen and Mr Frank Caie of Cammachmore, Stonehaven were selected from those nominated for the award

The winners were awarded a meal for two supplied by The Brentwood Hotel Crown Street Aberdeen.
